Hyundai Bayon India Launch on October 26, Bookings Open

Hyundai Motor India has confirmed that the India-spec Bayon will be launched on October 26, 2026. Bookings for the SUV are now open at Hyundai dealerships and through the company’s website for Rs. 11,000, with deliveries scheduled to begin during the festive season. Detailed delivery timelines will be announced at launch.
The Bayon will be positioned around technology and connected features, with Hyundai describing it as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle. Its equipment package includes a generative AI voice assistant, a connected-car navigation cockpit, over-the-air updates, dual curved displays and Hyundai Bluelink connectivity.
Hyundai Bayon gets generative AI voice assistant
One of the Bayon’s key features is Hyundai Motor India’s first generative AI voice assistant. The system combines Intelligence by Perplexity with voice AI technology from SoundHound AI.
Unlike conventional systems that are largely dependent on fixed commands, Hyundai says the assistant is designed to understand conversational requests and provide relevant responses. It can be used for tasks such as preparing a road-trip itinerary, checking real-time weather information, finding hotels and restaurants, suggesting nearby shopping destinations and providing sports-related information, including scores and coverage.
Hyundai Bayon gets NVIDIA-accelerated ccNC system
The Bayon will feature Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), which is accelerated by NVIDIA. The system brings together connected services, navigation and vehicle controls through a unified interface.
Features include online navigation, a personalised quick-control panel, split-screen functionality and smartphone-style quick controls. The system is designed to provide access to frequently used functions through the central interface.
Up to 19 controllers support OTA updates
Hyundai has equipped the Bayon with up to 19 controllers capable of receiving Vehicle Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) updates. This allows software enhancements and certain feature updates to be delivered remotely without requiring a visit to a dealership.
According to Hyundai, the system is intended to allow the vehicle’s software and features to evolve after purchase, while also helping with maintenance requirements, safety and security-related updates.
Hyundai Bayon gets dual 12.3-inch curved displays
The Bayon features two 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays, with one serving as the infotainment screen and the other as the driver’s display. Hyundai says the combined 62.5cm display setup integrates driving information, navigation, entertainment and connected functions.
The system also supports individual user profiles and personalised controls.
Hyundai Bluelink gets more than 70 connected features
The Bayon will come with Hyundai Bluelink, offering more than 70 connected features. These include remote start and stop, connected vehicle information, remote vehicle controls, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, location and navigation-related services, as well as safety and security functions.
The SUV also gets a multi-language user interface covering 10 regional and two international languages. Hyundai says this is intended to make vehicle functions and information more accessible to customers across India.
Hyundai Bayon supports more than 500 embedded voice commands
The Bayon has more than 500 embedded voice commands that can operate without an internet connection. These commands are available in English, Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Bengali and Telugu.
This allows users to access several frequently used vehicle functions through voice interaction even when the car does not have an active internet connection.
Other features will include ADAS, wireless phone charger, front ventilated seats, drive modes, automatic climate control, electronic parking brake, etc.
Hyundai Bayon engine and gearbox options
The India-spec Bayon will be powered by Hyundai’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder MPi petrol engine. It produces 115 PS and 144 Nm and will be available with two transmission choices.
Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). No turbo or diesel engine on offer at the time of launch.
Hyundai Bayon positioning and rivals
Hyundai will position the Bayon below the Creta, similar to how Maruti positions the Victoris below the Grand Vitara. The Bayon is expected to be priced between Rs. 9 lakhs and Rs. 14 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will compete with the likes of the Maruti Victoris, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos and Tata Sierra.
