IndiGo Fare Hike: IndiGo passengers will now have to pay more for several airline services, with the carrier revising charges for infants, excess baggage, unaccompanied minors, priority check-in and boarding, and travel certificates on domestic flights.
The IndiGo fare hike includes an increase in the fee for infants travelling with an accompanying adult. The airline has raised the IndiGo infant fee to Rs 3,000 for domestic flights, from the earlier Rs 2,000.
IndiGo Infant Fee Hiked To Rs 3,000
Travelling with a baby on an IndiGo domestic flight will now cost families more. The revised IndiGo infant charges apply to children aged more than three days and up to two years.
Under IndiGo’s rules, infants cannot be booked a separate seat and must travel on the lap of an accompanying adult. Only one infant is permitted per adult passenger.
Even though an infant does not occupy a separate seat, the applicable IndiGo infant fee has to be paid at the time of booking. Passengers may also be required to carry proof of the child’s age during the journey.
The higher infant fee is part of a wider revision of IndiGo flight charges and passenger service fees.

IndiGo has also increased excess baggage charges to Rs 800 per kg.
The fee for unaccompanied minors has been raised to Rs 5,999.
IndiGo Excess Baggage Charges Increased
Passengers carrying baggage beyond their permitted allowance will also have to pay more. IndiGo excess baggage charges have increased from Rs 700 per kg to Rs 800 per kg.
This means passengers carrying excess luggage on domestic IndiGo flights will now have to factor in an additional Rs 100 for every kilogram of excess baggage.
IndiGo Unaccompanied Minor Charges Revised
The airline has also increased its charge for unaccompanied minors. The fee has gone up from Rs 5,000 to Rs 5,999.
This charge applies to the service for children travelling without an accompanying adult, subject to IndiGo’s applicable rules.
Priority Check-In And Boarding Now Costlier
IndiGo has also revised the charges for priority check-in and priority boarding. The fee has increased from Rs 450 to Rs 650.
Passengers opting for the priority service will therefore pay Rs 200 more under the revised charges.
Travel Certificate Charges Increased
The airline has also raised its travel certificate fee from Rs 200 to Rs 300.
