Indian Railways News: Rail connectivity between Gujarat and Bihar is set to get a boost with the launch of a new Ahmedabad-Bhagalpur Amrit Bharat Express. The Railways has decided to regularise the existing 09447/09448 Ahmedabad-Patna-Ahmedabad special train and operate it as the 19423/19424 Ahmedabad-Bhagalpur-Ahmedabad Weekly Amrit Bharat Express, as reported by Hindustan.

The move comes amid growing passenger demand and will provide a direct rail link between Ahmedabad, one of Gujarat’s major industrial and economic centres, and Bhagalpur, an important commercial hub in Bihar popularly known as the ‘Silk City of India’.

When Will Ticket Booking Start?

Passengers will be able to book tickets for train number 19423 from August 21.

Tickets can be booked through Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters as well as the IRCTC website.

The train will operate once a week in each direction.

Ahmedabad To Bhagalpur: Schedule

Train number 19423 Ahmedabad-Bhagalpur Amrit Bharat Express will begin its regular service from August 26. It will depart from Ahmedabad every Wednesday at 6:30 pm and reach Bhagalpur at 6:40 am on Friday.

The journey will take approximately 36 hours and 10 minutes.

The train will operate at speeds ranging from around 110 kmph to 130 kmph, according to the Railway information provided.

Bhagalpur To Ahmedabad: Return Journey

On the return journey, train number 19424 Bhagalpur-Ahmedabad Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Bhagalpur every Friday at 4:45 pm, starting August 28.

It will reach Ahmedabad at around 5:25 am on Sunday, August 30.

The return journey will take approximately 36 hours and 40 minutes.

Which Stations Will The Train Stop At?

The Ahmedabad-Bhagalpur service will pass through and stop at several important stations across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

The listed stops include: Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Dahod, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Agra, Tundla, Govindpuri, Prayagraj, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Patna, Mokama, Kiul, Jamalpur and Sultanganj.

This route will connect several major cities and railway junctions along the Ahmedabad-Bhagalpur corridor.

What Coaches Will The Train Have?

The train will have general, unreserved and sleeper class coaches, giving passengers multiple travel options.

With the service being introduced as a weekly Amrit Bharat Express, it is expected to provide an additional option for passengers travelling between Gujarat and Bihar.

Why Is This Train Important?

The new service will provide a direct connection between Bhagalpur and Ahmedabad, linking Bihar’s Silk City with one of Gujarat’s biggest industrial and economic centres. The service is also expected to benefit passengers travelling to several cities along the route, including Patna, Prayagraj, Agra, Kota and Ratlam.
