BMW M2 xDrive Turbo Edition Bookings Open In India
BMW India has opened pre-orders for the M2 xDrive Turbo Edition, a limited-run performance coupe that pays tribute to the iconic 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo. The special edition will be available in strictly limited numbers and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis through authorised BMW dealerships across India.
The BMW M2 xDrive Turbo Edition gets an exclusive Alpine White exterior with hand-painted BMW Motorsport stripes inspired by the original 2002 Turbo. Other design highlights include a black power dome on the bonnet, the reversed ‘turbo’ lettering, a dedicated turbo emblem beneath the M2 badge, and a carbon-fibre roof, tailgate and rear spoiler. The car can also be equipped with optional 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M Performance forged alloy wheels finished in Gold Bronze.
The special edition continues the motorsport-inspired theme inside the cabin with M Carbon bucket seats, an M Alcantara steering wheel and carbon-fibre interior trim. It also gets an exclusive turbo badge integrated into the centre cupholder cover.
Powering the BMW M2 xDrive Turbo Edition is a 3.0-litre, inline-six-cylinder engine producing 480 bhp. BMW claims a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 3.7 seconds, while the electronically limited top speed stands at 250 kmph. This can be increased to 285 kmph with the optional M Driver’s Package.
The original BMW 2002 Turbo was introduced in 1973 and was one of the brand’s most significant performance models. It produced 170 bhp and could exceed 200 kmph, helping establish turbocharging as an important technology in production performance cars. The new M2 xDrive Turbo Edition brings back elements of that legacy with distinctive styling and modern performance hardware.
BMW India has not announced the price of the M2 xDrive Turbo Edition in the announcement. With its limited availability and exclusive design details, the special edition is aimed at enthusiasts looking for a more distinctive version of BMW’s performance coupe.
