Bengaluru Metro commuters will now have easier access to BMTC buses near two Metro stations, with new bus stops introduced at Cubbon Park and Tavarekere as part of an effort to improve first- and last-mile connectivity.

The new facilities have been provided by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) in coordination with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The arrangements came into effect on October 6, 2026.

BMRCL and BMTC jointly inspected the locations before finalising the new stops, which are intended to make it more convenient for passengers to switch between Metro and bus services.

New BMTC Stops At Cubbon Park Metro Station

At Cubbon Park Metro station on the Purple Line, two new bus stops have been provided at different entrances to serve passengers travelling in opposite directions.

A new stop near Entrance B, on the Chinnaswamy Stadium side, will serve buses coming from the Indian Express side and travelling towards Shantinagar via Anil Kumble Circle.

Another stop has been introduced near Entrance C for buses coming from the Anil Kumble Circle side and travelling towards Lok Bhavan (Raj Bhavan).

The two stops are expected to make bus transfers more convenient for Metro users travelling towards key destinations around the central Bengaluru area.

New Bus Stop At Tavarekere Metro Station

A new BMTC bus stop has also been introduced at Tavarekere Metro station on the upcoming Pink Line.

The stop will serve buses travelling from Dairy Circle towards Bannerghatta Road as well as buses travelling from Jayadeva Hospital towards Dairy Circle.

The facility is aimed at providing a smoother connection between the Metro station and surrounding areas along the Bannerghatta Road corridor.

BMRCL, BMTC Focus On First- And Last-Mile Connectivity

The new stops are part of the coordinated efforts by BMRCL and BMTC to strengthen public transport connectivity around Metro stations.

First- and last-mile connectivity is particularly important for Metro commuters who need to use buses to reach their final destination or connect with the Metro from nearby neighbourhoods.

BMRCL has requested Metro commuters to make use of the newly introduced facilities for more convenient bus and Metro connections.

With the new stops now operational, commuters using Cubbon Park and Tavarekere Metro stations will have designated BMTC boarding points closer to the stations, reducing the need to walk further to access connecting bus services.
