Prices Start At Rs 13.99 Lakh

The MG Hector Tomahawk EV has arrived in India. With prices starting at ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under MG’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the electric SUV is likely to catch the attention of buyers looking for a spacious EV without stepping into the luxury segment. Here’s a look at its price, range, features, charging time and other key details.

The Hector Tomahawk EV is available with two pricing structures. Under the BaaS model, the introductory price starts at ₹13.99 lakh, with a battery rental charge of ₹4.90 per kilometre. For buyers opting to purchase the car without BaaS, prices start at ₹19.49 lakh and go up to ₹23.49 lakh, depending on the variant and seating configuration.

One of the interesting aspects of the Tomahawk EV is its seating flexibility. The SUV is offered in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations. The seven-seat version is aimed at buyers looking for greater passenger capacity, while the five-seat version offers more luggage space.

The Hector Tomahawk EV measures 4,745mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,770mm in height, with a 2,810mm wheelbase. It also has 230mm of ground clearance, with MG positioning it as one of the largest vehicles in its segment. The electric SUV gets a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack paired with a single electric motor. The setup produces around 201bhp and 310Nm, while MG claims a maximum MIDC range of 517 km on a single charge. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a claimed 8.2 seconds.

Inside, the Tomahawk EV gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display. Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, gesture controls, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 10-speaker Infinity audio system and 256-colour ambient lighting. MG also offers several cabin modes, including Nap, Camp, Pro Pet, Energise, Valet and Quiet.

Safety is another major focus. The Tomahawk EV is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold control and an electronic parking brake. It also gets a 360-degree camera, including transparent chassis and wheel-view functionality.

The Tomahawk EV supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing the car’s battery to power compatible external electrical devices. It also gets Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) technology, which allows the vehicle to supply electricity to a compatible home setup and is being positioned by MG as an India-first feature for a passenger car.

The SUV supports both AC and DC charging. With a 90kW DC fast charger, MG says the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in around 35 minutes. A 7.4kW AC charger takes approximately 12.5 hours for a 10% to 100% charge. A portable charger compatible with a 15A socket is also offered.

Bookings for the Hector Tomahawk EV are now open, while deliveries are scheduled to begin in September 2026. The company has also unveiled a plug-in hybrid version of the Tomahawk, with PHEV deliveries expected later.
