Beed and Pune are set to get their first direct daily train service. Here are the route, stoppages and coach details of the new railway connection

Indian Railways News: Residents of Beed are set to receive a long-awaited rail connection to Pune, with Central Railway preparing to launch the first daily train service between the two cities. The new route is expected to make travel easier for people from the Marathwada district who regularly visit Pune for education, healthcare, business and other purposes.

According to a report in Mid-day, the inaugural service will be flagged off from Beed railway station on Thursday by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, MP Bajrang Sonavane, legislator Sandeep Kshirsagar and other officials and dignitaries.

Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Dr Swapnil Nila announced the development in a press release issued on Wednesday.

Inaugural Train To Stop At Seven Stations

The inaugural special train, numbered 01401, will travel from Beed to Pune, with scheduled halts at Amalner Bhandyache, New Ashti, Narayandoho, Ahilyanagar, Shrigonda Road, Daund Chord Line and Uruli.

Passengers will have access to multiple travel classes. The rake will include two AC 2-Tier coaches, three AC 3-Tier coaches, four Sleeper Class coaches and four General Second Class coaches. It will also feature a Second Seating-cum-Guard’s Brake Van and a generator van.

The permanent service will operate as Train Nos. 11434 and 11433, covering the Pune-Beed-Pune route. Central Railway has said that the timetable and detailed list of stoppages for the regular service will be released separately.

Rail Project Opens The Way For Direct Connectivity

The new train service has been made possible following the commissioning of the Ahilyanagar-Beed section of the Ahilyanagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath New Line Project.

For residents, the connection is expected to offer an alternative to lengthy road journeys. Students travelling to Pune for higher education, patients seeking treatment, traders managing business activities and pilgrims visiting religious destinations could benefit from the new service.

The railway authorities also expect the route to contribute to local economic activity by supporting tourism and the transportation of agricultural goods from the region.

Why The Beed-Pune Route Is Important

Beed is an agricultural district in Marathwada with several sites of cultural and religious importance. The Kankaleshwar Temple is among its prominent landmarks, while the district is also located near pilgrimage destinations such as the Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga and Ambajogai.

Pune serves as a major centre for education, information technology, industry and commerce. Its railway network also connects western Maharashtra with several other regions, making the city an important destination for residents of Beed and surrounding areas.

Central Railway said the new service would establish direct rail connectivity between Beed and Pune and improve the region’s links with western Maharashtra. The service is also expected to give passengers from Beed access to onward train connections through Pune to other parts of the country.
