NAVI MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA: Planning a trip to Goa or looking for a direct flight to Maharashtra’s smaller cities? Travellers from Navi Mumbai now have four more options as regional airline FLY91 begins operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).

FLY91 made its debut at NMIA with a ceremonial flight from Hyderabad, which received a water cannon salute at the airport. The airline will now operate direct services from Navi Mumbai to Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Goa (GOX) and Agatti in Lakshadweep, adding four destinations to the airport’s growing network.

The move gives passengers from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region another option for reaching Goa without travelling to Mumbai airport, while also opening direct air links to Sindhudurg and Jalgaon and the island destination of Agatti.

Four New FLY91 Connections From Navi Mumbai

With the addition of NMIA, FLY91 now has 14 domestic destinations, including five in Maharashtra. Its network covers Goa, Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Solapur, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Agatti, Kochi, Hubballi, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Navi Mumbai.

The airline plans to operate more than 350 flights a week across 14 destinations during the winter schedule, signalling an aggressive expansion of its regional network.

For NMIA, the arrival of FLY91 is another step in building connections beyond the country’s biggest metropolitan centres. The airport is increasingly adding routes that link Navi Mumbai directly with regional and leisure destinations.

FLY91 Betting Big On Regional Aviation

The airline’s Navi Mumbai expansion comes as it prepares for a major fleet expansion.

FLY91 has placed an order for 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft worth around $1 billion, with deliveries scheduled between 2027 and 2032. Its fleet is planned to expand from the current six aircraft to as many as 60.

The airline’s strategy is focused on connecting regional cities and shorter-haul destinations, potentially giving passengers more direct options instead of travelling through larger hubs.

NMIA Crosses 3.2 Million Passengers

FLY91’s arrival comes as Navi Mumbai International Airport itself continues to build passenger traffic.

NMIA has handled more than 3.2 million passengers since commercial operations began on December 25, 2025. The airport initially launched with 13 destinations and now connects travellers to around 43 domestic destinations.

It has also handled more than 25,295 commercial flights since beginning operations.

The airport’s long-term expansion plans are considerably larger. NMIA is designed to eventually handle up to 90 million passengers annually, with an initial capacity of 20 million passengers.

With airlines adding new routes and passenger numbers climbing, NMIA is steadily positioning itself as a second major aviation gateway for Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and the wider western India region.
