Travelling By Maharashtra State Bus? Now Recharge Your NCMC Card From Home Via BHIM

Passengers using Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) NCMC cards no longer need to visit a recharge centre every time their card balance runs out. The corporation has introduced a new facility allowing NCMC cardholders to top up their cards directly through the BHIM app. The facility became available from September 15, 2026, and is expected to make recharging easier, particularly for senior citizens, women and other passengers using concession-based NCMC cards.

How To Recharge MSRTC NCMC Card Through BHIM App: Passengers can recharge their NCMC cards using the QR code printed on the back of the card. To top up the card, users need to open the BHIM app and scan the QR code on the back of their NCMC card. They can then enter the amount they want to add and complete the payment by following the process shown in the app. The new system allows passengers to add money digitally without having to visit a designated centre.

The MSRTC has approved mobile-based top-ups for its NCMC cards, with the facility being made available from September 15. The move comes as the registration and distribution of NCMC cards continues for different categories of passengers, including Amrut Senior Citizens, Senior Citizens and women eligible for concession benefits. While the card distribution process is underway, passengers had faced difficulties when they needed to recharge their cards after the balance was exhausted. The new BHIM-based facility is aimed at addressing this issue.

Senior Citizens And Women To Benefit: The facility is expected to be particularly useful for senior citizens, Amrut Senior Citizens and women passengers who may otherwise have to travel to recharge centres and wait in queues. With mobile recharge now available, passengers can top up their cards without making a separate trip to a centre. The digital payment facility is also expected to save time and reduce the inconvenience associated with standing in queues for recharge.

MSRTC Expands Digital Facilities: The introduction of BHIM-based NCMC recharge is part of MSRTC’s efforts to make its digital services more convenient for passengers. With the new facility, NCMC cardholders can manage their card balance more easily and make digital payments from their homes. The initiative is expected to make the NCMC card system more convenient for passengers as the corporation continues to expand the use of digital facilities across its services.
