Indian Railways News: If you are planning to travel by train on Sunday, September 13, 2026, it is important to check your service before leaving home. Central Railway has announced a nine-hour mega block at Pune Railway Station from 8 am to 5 pm for technical work in the Pune Yard.
The block is expected to affect several local, DEMU and express services. While some trains have been completely cancelled, others will either terminate before reaching Pune Main Station or operate from alternative stations.
Why Is Pune Railway Station Seeing A Mega Block?
The block has been planned for the upgradation of the DDS Point in the Pune Yard on the Pune-Daund section. As part of the work, the existing railway tracks will be replaced with higher-capacity 60 kg tracks. A special traffic and power block will be required to carry out the work safely.
During the block, train movement on Platform No 1, the Up Main Line and the Down Main Line at the CSMT end will remain completely suspended.
Which Trains Are Cancelled On September 13?
Several local, express and DEMU services scheduled for Sunday have been cancelled. The cancelled local services include:
- Pune-Talegaon local
- Talegaon-Pune local
- Pune-Lonavala local
- Lonavala-Shivajinagar local
- Express And DEMU Services
The following services will also remain cancelled:
- CSMT-Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express
- Pune-Mumbai Deccan Express
- Pune-Daund DEMU services
Some Trains To End Their Journey Before Pune
Not all affected trains have been cancelled. Some express services will be short-terminated, meaning they will end their journey at stations before Pune Main Station.
The Jaipur-Pune Express, Nagpur-Pune Express, Amravati-Pune Express and Mumbai-Pune Express will terminate at Hadapsar or Khadki, instead of reaching Pune Main Station.
The Lonavala-Pune local will terminate at Shivajinagar, while the Baramati-Pune DEMU will terminate at Daund.
Return Journeys To Start From Different Stations
Passengers travelling back from Pune should also take note of changes to the originating stations.
The Pune-Jaipur, Pune-Nagpur and Pune-Mumbai Express trains will depart from Khadki and Hadapsar stations instead of Pune Main Station.
