Pune Traffic News: The temporary traffic arrangements are expected to remain in force until around 7pm on Tuesday.
Pune Traffic Alert: Traffic restrictions have kicked in across parts of Shivajinagar and Deccan in Pune as the city traffic police implement diversions to facilitate a Tiranga Rally on Fergusson College Road on Tuesday.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes from 2pm, with the temporary traffic arrangements expected to remain in place until around 7pm.
According to the traffic police, the rally began at around 2pm from Lalit Mahal Hotel Chowk on Fergusson Road and is scheduled to pass through several key junctions in the Deccan area.
Fergusson College Road To See Vehicle Restrictions
The rally will proceed through Shri Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk, Shri Tukaram Maharaj Paduka Chowk, Goodluck Chowk and Garware Chowk.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Bhajibhakare said the movement of vehicles on Fergusson College Road would be halted after 2.30pm. He appealed to motorists to avoid the affected roads and take alternative routes, as temporary changes have been introduced in traffic arrangements around Deccan Gymkhana and Fergusson College Road during the rally.
Swargate To Deccan Gymkhana
Motorists travelling from Swargate towards Deccan Gymkhana via Tilak Road have been advised to avoid the affected stretch and take the following route:
Sarasbaug → Dandekar Bridge Chowk → Mhatre Bridge → Nal Stop Chowk → Law College Road
The alternative route will allow motorists to continue towards their destinations while avoiding the rally-affected section.
Swargate To Old Mumbai-Pune Highway
Those travelling from Swargate towards the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway via Deccan Gymkhana should take an alternative route through:
Puram Chowk → Bajirao Road → Shimla Office Chowk
Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly, particularly during the afternoon and evening peak period.
Karve Road To Tilak Chowk
Vehicles travelling from Karve Road via Khandoji Baba Chowk towards Tilak Chowk have also been asked to use alternative routes because of the temporary restrictions.
Traffic police have advised motorists to avoid entering the rally-affected stretches and follow directions from personnel deployed in the area.
Garware Chowk To Wakdewadi
Drivers and two-wheeler riders travelling from Garware Chowk in Deccan towards Wakdewadi via Fergusson College Road should use the following alternative route:
Shelar Mama Chowk → Prabhat Road → Law College Road → Senapati Bapat Road → Ganeshkhind Road
The diversion is intended to keep traffic moving while the Tiranga Rally passes through Fergusson College Road.
Restrictions To Continue Till 7pm
The temporary traffic arrangements are expected to remain in force until around 7pm on Tuesday.
With the rally affecting important roads connecting Shivajinagar, Deccan, Fergusson College Road and surrounding areas, motorists have been urged to allow extra travel time and use the prescribed alternative routes.
The traffic police have also appealed to commuters to cooperate with personnel deployed on the roads and follow temporary traffic directions during the rally.
