Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG Launched at Rs. 9.99 Lakhs

Mahindra has expanded the XUV 3XO range with the introduction of a CNG-powered variant, priced from Rs. 9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The new version will be available in four trims, with bookings and customer deliveries scheduled to commence on October 20, 2026.
The XUV 3XO CNG joins the existing petrol, diesel and electric versions of the compact SUV. It offers an alternative for buyers looking to reduce running costs without moving to a smaller vehicle, although the choice of a manual gearbox may limit its appeal to customers seeking an automatic transmission.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG Price and Variants
The CNG-powered XUV 3XO is available in four variants, with prices extending to Rs. 12.27 lakhs (ex-showroom).
| Variant | Price (Ex-showroom) |
|---|---|
| MX Edge | Rs 9.99 lakh |
| RevX Edge (O) | Rs 10.79 lakh |
| AX5 | Rs 11.19 lakh |
| RevX A | Rs 12.27 lakh |
The entry-level MX Edge is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, while the top-spec RevX A costs Rs 12.27 lakh. The availability of four trims gives buyers a choice between a lower entry price and additional equipment, depending on their budget and feature requirements.
Engine, Performance and Claimed Mileage
The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG uses a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, MPFI turbo-petrol engine adapted to run on CNG. Mahindra claims an output of 111 HP and 200 Nm in both fuel modes, with revised turbocharger calibration and engine control unit (ECU) mapping enabling the same peak figures.
Power is transmitted to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is no automatic transmission option announced for the CNG version.
Mahindra claims a fuel efficiency figure of 24.7 km/kg. Actual mileage will depend on factors such as traffic conditions, driving style, passenger load and road conditions.
The system can automatically switch to petrol when the CNG supply runs low, allowing the vehicle to continue running without requiring the driver to stop immediately to refuel. This dual-fuel arrangement is intended to offer flexibility on longer journeys where CNG availability may vary.
Dual CNG Tanks and Boot Space
One of the key considerations with factory-fitted CNG vehicles is the space occupied by the gas cylinder. To address this, Mahindra has equipped the XUV 3XO CNG with a dual-tank configuration.
The SUV offers a claimed boot capacity of 270 litres, while the spare wheel is positioned underneath the vehicle. While the arrangement helps retain usable luggage space, the boot is still a consideration for buyers who regularly carry bulky luggage.
Features and Interior
The XUV 3XO CNG retains the cabin design and layout of the standard model. Equipment varies by variant, with higher trims offering features such as a panoramic sunroof, black leatherette upholstery and two 10.25-inch displays — one for the driver and another for the infotainment system.
Other available features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with Dolby Atmos audio technology.
On the safety front, six airbags, electronic stability control and Isofix child-seat mounts are standard. Buyers should check the equipment list for their preferred trim, as comfort and convenience features are not necessarily available across the entire range.
Exterior Design and Identification
There are no major exterior design changes for the CNG version. The main distinguishing detail is a ‘ZNG’ badge on the tailgate.
Depending on the variant, equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, a body-coloured grille, LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps and connected LED tail-lamps. The overall design and body style remain consistent with the petrol and diesel versions of the XUV 3XO.
Rivals and Market Position
The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG will compete with factory-fitted CNG alternatives such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon.
The XUV 3XO CNG’s starting price is higher than the entry-level prices of both rivals, although a direct comparison requires matching variants, equipment and pricing structures. Its claimed 111 HP and 200 Nm output in CNG mode, paired with a turbocharged engine, are notable specifications but real-world performance and running costs will be important factors for prospective buyers.
With four variants, a claimed efficiency of 24.7 km/kg and a dual-tank arrangement, the XUV 3XO CNG broadens Mahindra’s compact SUV offering. Its appeal will depend on the balance between purchase price, fuel savings, available features and the practical requirements of CNG ownership.
