A Radha Soami gathering at Bhati Mines has prompted a Delhi Traffic Police advisory, as commuters flag possible jams on MG Road, NH-48 and nearby routes

Traffic Alert: With the RSSB gathering scheduled through October 11 and Delhi Traffic Police warning of heavy traffic near Bhati Mines, commuters travelling between Gurgaon and south Delhi may want to allow additional time for their journeys.
Commuters travelling between Gurgaon, south Delhi and Faridabad have raised concerns about possible traffic congestion over the next three days amid a Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB) gathering at Bhati Mines. Social media users have urged people travelling through Chhatarpur, Vasant Kunj, Mehrauli, Dera Mandi and MG Road to plan their journeys carefully, warning that traffic could build up during peak office hours.
The concerns come after Gurgaon witnessed significant traffic disruption earlier this week, when a large gathering at Leisure Valley drew visitors from several districts of Haryana and affected roads around IFFCO Chowk, MG Road and the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory For RSSB Gathering
Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for the Radha Soami Satsang Beas gathering at Bhati Mines from October 9 to 11, warning that heavy traffic is expected near the Radha Soami Satsang Complex. The advisory asks commuters to allow extra travel time, follow diversion signs and cooperate with traffic personnel. The notice was published on October 7. Delhi Traffic Police Advisory
The advisory confirms the gathering and the possibility of congestion around the complex. However, it does not, by itself, confirm the wider claims circulating online that MG Road and other routes across the National Capital Region will remain severely congested throughout the day for all three days.
Commuters Flag MG Road, NH-48 And Gurugram-Faridabad Road
Social media users have warned that traffic could be particularly heavy between 6 am and 11 am, with congestion potentially continuing through the afternoon. Some posts have advised commuters from Chhatarpur, Vasant Kunj, Mehrauli, Dera Mandi and Gurgaon to avoid MG Road where possible.
Traffic-related complaints shared with the police have also highlighted congestion around the Radisson Hotel roundabout and the service lane adjoining NH-48 towards Gurugram. In response, traffic police said the reported issues, including red-light violations, unauthorised parking and unsafe pedestrian movement, would be checked on the ground by the concerned traffic circle. Officials said traffic regulation, enforcement and pedestrian management measures would be undertaken based on the assessment.

In another response concerning NH-48 from Dhaula Kuan towards Rajokri Flyover and Gurugram, traffic police acknowledged that high vehicle volumes, merging traffic and bottlenecks around Mahipalpur, Shiv Murti and Rajokri can lead to congestion during peak hours. The concerned traffic circles were being alerted for coordinated deployment, lane-discipline enforcement and the prompt clearance of breakdowns or obstructions, the response said.
Police also acknowledged a complaint about congestion in the Mehrauli area and said the concerned traffic inspector had been informed for immediate regulation and intervention.
The traffic situation on NH-48 from Dhaula Kuan towards Rajokri Flyover/Gurugram has been noted. During peak hours, high traffic volume, merging movements and bottlenecks around Mahipalpur–Shiv Murti–Rajokri may result in traffic build-up. The concerned Traffic Circles are being alerted for coordinated deployment, active regulation at critical merging points, lane-discipline enforcement and prompt clearance of any breakdown/obstruction to facilitate smoother traffic flow.— Delhi Traffic Police (@dtptraffic) October 9, 2026
Gurgaon Saw Major Traffic Disruption Earlier This Week
The latest concerns follow a major traffic crunch on Wednesday, October 7, when Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Gurugram for a programme at Maharana Pratap Swarn Jayanti Udyan in the Leisure Valley area.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, vehicles arriving from Faridabad, Palwal, Nuh, Rewari and Jhajjar increased traffic pressure on city roads. By around 10 am, congestion had affected the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, Sohna Road, Rajiv Chowk, IFFCO Chowk and the Signature Tower area. Traffic also built up on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway after the programme. Dainik Jagran Report
The episode highlighted how large gatherings and the arrival of vehicles from neighbouring districts can affect traffic across several parts of Gurugram, particularly during the morning commute.
What Should Commuters Do?
With the RSSB gathering scheduled through October 11 and Delhi Traffic Police warning of heavy traffic near Bhati Mines, commuters travelling between Gurgaon and south Delhi may want to allow additional time for their journeys. Those heading towards NH-48, Mehrauli, Chhatarpur or the Gurugram-Faridabad corridor should check current traffic updates before setting out and follow any official diversion instructions.
Disclaimer: Claims about congestion lasting from early morning until late afternoon, and calls to avoid MG Road for all three days, have been circulating on social media. News18 could not independently verify the full extent or duration of the predicted congestion across these routes. The confirmed Delhi Traffic Police advisory warns of heavy traffic near the Radha Soami Satsang Complex at Bhati Mines from October 9 to 11; actual conditions on individual Gurgaon roads may vary.
