This Stunning Station In Ahmedabad Is Almost Ready

Among the stations taking shape is the Sabarmati Bullet Train Station in Ahmedabad, where construction has entered an advanced stage. Recent visuals from the site show the station building nearing completion and revealing the scale of the infrastructure being created for the high-speed rail service.

Ahmedabad Railway Division DRM Ved Prakash recently visited the Sabarmati Bullet Train Station and the adjoining Multi-Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) to assess progress on works connected with the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. During the inspection, the DRM reviewed the development of the station complex, passenger concourse, platforms and roads providing access to the multi-modal hub, as reported by Aaj Tak.

He also held discussions with senior officials and engineers working on the project and examined the technologies and safety standards being incorporated into the infrastructure. The station is now taking its final form, with its imposing structure and extensive passenger facilities giving it a distinctly modern appearance. Visuals from the site show a large, multi-storey station building with work continuing on different sections of the complex.

Speaking during the inspection, Ved Prakash described the bullet train project as one of the country’s most ambitious infrastructure initiatives and stressed that construction quality and passenger safety cannot be compromised. He directed officials and engineers to maintain the required standards while ensuring that the remaining work is completed within the stipulated timeframe. The emphasis, he said, should be on improving the pace and efficiency of construction without affecting quality or safety.

A key feature of the development is the Multi-Modal Transport Hub being constructed at Sabarmati. The facility is designed to bring several modes of public transport together, allowing passengers to transfer between the bullet train and other services more conveniently. The hub will connect the high-speed rail station with the existing Sabarmati broad-gauge railway station, Ahmedabad Metro and the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS).

The integrated facility is expected to make onward travel easier for passengers arriving at or departing from the bullet train station. The complex is being equipped with passenger facilities including lifts, escalators, ticketing areas and parking spaces. These facilities are being developed to meet international standards and provide a smoother experience for passengers.

The Sabarmati bullet train station is currently several storeys high and is nearing completion, although work continues across parts of the building and surrounding infrastructure.

Construction is also advancing at other stations along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor, while track-laying activity is progressing simultaneously. With work continuing at multiple locations, the project is gradually moving towards its target of starting India’s first bullet train service on August 15, 2027. Once operational, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail service will mark India’s entry into dedicated high-speed passenger rail, with the Sabarmati complex expected to play a significant role as a major transport interchange in Ahmedabad.
