Mumbai News: A flyover that was built to ease one of Thane’s busiest traffic corridors has itself become the centre of a safety inspection after a complaint raised concerns over its condition. The Kasarvadavali flyover on Ghodbunder Road was closed to traffic on Sunday afternoon, sending vehicles onto the road below and triggering long queues between Kasarvadavali and Brahmand.
The closure came after a complaint about possible irregularities near sections adjoining the flyover’s protective barrier. MMRDA officials inspected the structure as a precaution, although the authority has not yet confirmed whether the reported issue amounts to an actual structural defect.
Traffic on the flyover was stopped at around 2 pm on Sunday following instructions from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). Vehicles were diverted underneath the flyover while officials examined the reported concern.
