Size is a key area where the two models differ. In India, it is offered in the LWB guise. Hence, the V-Class is the larger of the two. It measures 5,370 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 3,430 mm, which allows for more space in the cabin. It is 1,928 mm wide and has a height of 1,880 mm.The Vellfire, on the other hand, measures 5,005 mm in length and comes with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. Besides that, it measures 1,850 in width and stands 1,950 mm tall.

The biggest difference between the two MPVs lies under the hood. The Toyota Vellfire is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine combined with a hybrid system. This setup produces 193 hp and 240 Nm of torque and is paired with a CVT gearbox. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class offers petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version produces 231 hp along with mild hybrid assist, while the diesel engine generates 237 hp and up to 500 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

Feature lists are extensive in both vehicles. The Vellfire comes equipped with a 14-inch infotainment system, a 15-speaker JBL sound system, connected car technology and dual sunroofs. The V-Class includes a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a Burmester surround sound system and ambient lighting with 64 colour options. Safety features are comprehensive in both models. The Toyota Vellfire is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane trace assist and a pre-collision system, along with six airbags. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class offers seven airbags and driver assistance features such as Active Brake Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist.

In terms of pricing, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class is positioned at the premium end of the segment. It has been priced from Rs 1.40 crore, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Vellfire is priced from approximately Rs 1.20 crore, ex-showroom.
