Nissan Gravite : What to expect
The company, in December 2025, revealed the name of its new MPV as Gravite, while confirming that the vehicle will be fully unveiled in January 2026. Along with this announcement, Nissan released teaser images that offer a first glimpse of the MPV’s exterior styling and design direction.
Based on the teasers, the Nissan Gravite will share its underpinnings with the Renault Triber, but it will get a distinct visual identity. The front end features a new grille with the Nissan logo, highlighted by chrome detailing. The headlamps appear to be reshaped, and the bonnet gets a pronounced hood scoop-like element. From the side, the MPV is expected to sport newly designed alloy wheels along with functional roof rails.Changes continue at the rear as well, where the Gravite will receive redesigned tail-lamps and a revised bumper. Chrome accents remain a key styling element, and the Gravite name will be displayed prominently across the tailgate.Under the hood, the Nissan Gravite is expected to mirror the Renault Triber mechanically. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder NA petrol engine that produces 72 hp and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT unit. The Gravite is expected to play a crucial role in Nissan’s strategy to strengthen its footprint in India’s mass-market segment. Looking ahead, the company has also confirmed two more products for the Indian market. The next model in line after the Gravite will be the Nissan Tekton, which will be Nissan’s take on the Renault Duster and other popular names in the mid-size SUV segment.
